Install Slack from command line

  1. Start by opening a terminal window and execution of the bellow apt command:
    $ sudo snap install slack --classic
    
    Optionally you can also install terminal based Slack client:
    $ sudo snap install slack-term --classic
    
    All done.
  2. You can start the Slack using the below command:
    $ slack

Install Slack using graphical user interface



  1. Open software application
    use top left Activities menu to open the Software application.


  2. search for slack
    Search for slack application. Optionally, using the same procedure you can also install terminal based Slack client.


  3. Slack installation
    To begin the installation press the Install button.


  4. Enter your username and password
    Enter your username and password. You user needs to belong to sudo administrative group.


  5. Start the Slack application
    Start the Slack application
