  1. First step is to check current VirtualBox extensions in use.
    Open VirtualBox preferences

    Open VirtualBox preferences and click on the Extensions tab. At the moment there is no extension pack installed.

  2. Close the VirtualBox application.
  3. Open terminal window and use the following apt command to install the VirtualBox Extension Pack: 
    $ sudo apt install virtualbox-ext-pack
  4. Re-open the VirtualBox application.
    The new VirtualBox Extension Pack and its version number information should now be available

    Open VirtualBox preferences and click on the Extensions tab. The new VirtualBox Extension Pack and its version number information should now be available.
