This article will provide you with a benchmark information on best Ethereum miners on HiveOs for your Nvidia GPU card. For our benchmark we have considered all currently available crypto miners on HiveOS, namely: Ethminer, Bminer, lolminer, Phoenixminer, T-rex, Gminer, Nbminer, Nanominer and TT-miner.
In this tutorial you will learn:
- Best Ethereum Miner based on hash rate speed
- Best Ethereum Miner based on mining efficiency
Software Requirements and Conventions Used
Category | Requirements, Conventions or Software Version Used |
---|---|
System | HiveOS LInux |
Hardware | Any mining worthy Nvidia Graphics Card |
Other | Privileged access to your Linux system as root or via the sudo command. |
Conventions |
# – requires given linux commands to be executed with root privileges either directly as a root user or by use of sudo command$ – requires given linux commands to be executed as a regular non-privileged user |
About our test environment
Operating System | Nvidia Driver | CUDA Version | GPU model | Absolute Core Clock | Memory Clock | Power Limit |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
HiveOS Linux | 460.67 | 11.2 | Nvidia RTX 3080 | 1080 | 2000 | 250 |
Benchmark Results
Based on our tests the best Ethereum miner with a highest efficiency is Nbminer. This particular miner scored 461.22H
and at the same time performed second in terms of the fastest hash-rate.
When it comes to the miner with a fastest hash rate the best score, even though marginally belongs to T-Rex miner with a hash rate of 98.26MH
.
Although, the miner benchmark results for the rest of the miner are marginal, they might make significant difference on a large scale deployment.
The Hashrate/Watt efficiency is a ratio between power usage and hash generation. Here, you need to make a choice based on the power cost. The higher the watt/hash efficiency ration the greater hash generation per 1 Watt.
To calculate your mining efficiency you first need to obtain hashrate and watt values. Once ready simply divide hashrate with number of Watts used. For example if your hashrate is 20.05MH with Watt usage 74W your efficiency is: ( 20.05/74 ) * 1000 = 270.9K hash per Watt
Miner | Version | Hash-rate | Power Consumption | Efficiency |
---|---|---|---|---|
Ethminer | v.0.19.0.2 | 97.11MH | 220W | 441.41 |
Bminer | v16.4.6 | 95.58MH | 213W | 448.73 |
lolminer | v.1.29 | 96.71MH | 213W | 454.04 |
Phoenixminer | v.PM 5.5c | 97.67MH | 219W | 445.98 |
T-rex | v.0.20.4 | 98.26MH | 215W | 457.02 |
Gminer | v.2.55 | 97.88MH | 215W | 459.53 |
Nbminer | v.37.6 | 98.24MH | 213W | 461.22 |
Nanominer | v.3.3.5 | 97.21MH | 221W | 439.86 |
TT-miner | v.6.1.0 | 97.40MH | 217W | 448.85 |
Conclusion
The above results are based on current Miner versions available on HiveOS and specific GPU, hence the results should be only used as a guideline. Keep your system up to date and update your miners regularly.
