Ubuntu 20.04 Zoom installation

In this tutorial we will be installing the ZOOM teleconferencing client on Ubuntu 20.04 Focal Fossa Desktop.

ZOOM installation on Ubuntu 20.04 step by step instructions

Since the ZOOM teleconferencing software heavily relies on webcam and microphone peripherals, it is recommended that before you begin the ZOOM installation you first test your webcam and microphone.

Install ZOOM from command line

  1. Start by opening a terminal window and execution of the bellow apt command:
    $ sudo snap install zoom-client
    

    All done.

  2. You can start the ZOOM using the below command:
    $ zoom-client
    


Install ZOOM using graphical user interface

  1. Open software application

    Use top left Activities menu to open the Software application.

  2. search for zoom

    Search for zoom application.

  3. ZOOM installation

    To begin the installation press the Install button.



  4. Enter your username and password

    Enter your username and password. Your user needs to belong to sudo administrative group.

  5. Start the ZOOM application

    Start the ZOOM application
