Ubuntu 20.04 wallpaper slideshow step by step instructions

  1. Use the Software application to install shotwell image viewer. Alternatively execute the following command to install Shotwell:
    $ sudo apt install shotwell
    
  2. Start shotwell image viewer application

    Start shotwell image viewer application using the Activities menu.

  3.  select all desired images to be part of the desktop wallpaper slideshow

    Using your mouse select all desired images to be part of the desktop wallpaper slideshow



  4. Set as Desktop Slideshow

    While all the the images are selected click on File and select Set as Desktop Slideshow.

  5. Set the time between each automatic wallpaper change

    Set the time between each automatic wallpaper change. Optionally, also set wallpaper slideshow to be shown on your lock screen.
