From the terminal execute the following command:

$ sudo snap install skype --classic
skype 8.55.0.135 from Skype✓ installed

Use the Activities menu to search for Skype application and click on the relevant icon to start Skype.

Alternatively, start the Skype application from the command line:

$ skype

First step is to download the official Skype package. Open up the terminal and run:

```

Install the Skype package downloaded in the previous step by using the dpkg command:

$ dpkg -i ~/skype.deb
