  1. software application
    Use the top left Activities menu to open the Software application.


  2. search for libreoffice
    Search for LibreOffice software. Now you have a choice to select either the entire office suite or hand pick any single program to install.


  3. begin the LibreOffice installation
    Click the Install button to begin the LibreOffice installation


  4. Enter your username and password
    Enter your username and password. Your user needs to belong to sudo administrative group.


  5. Start the LibreOffice application

    Command line install instructions

    To install LibreOffice on Ubuntu 20.04 from command line execute the following command:

    GNOME Desktop

    $ sudo apt install libreoffice-plasma libreoffice
    
    For any other desktop environments simply run:
    $ sudo apt install libreoffice
